Making a Pillowcase

Supplies

  • Sewing Machine

  • Overlock Machine

  • thread

  • pins

  • scissors

  • two types of fabric (body and border)

Step 1:
Cut the body and border fabric.

Body:
27" by 41"
Border:
10" by 41"

Connect both sides of the border piece and pin all three layers of fabric together.

Sew the pinned edge to create a "burrito".

Roll the body piece up until it's in the middle of the border piece.

Step 2:

Line up the border piece and the body piece right sides together along the long edge.

Here's a quick video on how to make the "burrito"!

Step 3:
Pull the rolled up body piece out of the burrito to reveal the completed border.

Pin and sew the unfinished edges together.

Fold in half leaving the right sides together

Step 4:

Flip the pillowcase inside out and you're done!

Step 5:
 
Overlock the edges and cut off all excess thread.
